Minister for Just Transition, Employment and Fair Work, Richard Lochhead’s visit to Into Work

10th November 2022

Last week we were pleased to welcome Richard Lochhead, the Minister for Just Transition, Employment and Fair Work to Into Work.

This was a fantastic opportunity to share the impact of our work and discuss how lived experience continues to shape our services.

We were delighted to have representatives from our Autism Works! and Wellbeing+ Advisory Groups in attendance. We wished to recognise their vital contributions.

Our Autism Works! team shared an update on their training and consultancy work. We know from our employer feedback how powerful lived experience is in helping businesses learn to improve their confidence in employing disabled people.

We welcomed some of our staff with lived experience and experience of supported employment services to share their journeys.

Our Welfare Rights Income Maximisation Lead discussed the important role he has played in helping our clients navigate the cost-of-living crisis and the importance of this as part of a wraparound service for our supported employment clients alongside our in-house wellbeing support.

We would like to thank Richard for coming to hear about the work we have been doing. We look forward to working with him in the future to reduce the disability employment gap in Scotland.
