Throughout our work, we uphold the value that neurodivergent and disabled staff can bring to their organisations. Working with employers is one of the ways that we support disabled people to find jobs and reduce the disability employment gap.

In 2023, we participated in Scottish Government funded research into fair work for autistic people in partnership with Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University. You can read a summary of the report here: Closing the Fair Work gap: making work fair for autistic people in Scotland

We offer training in a variety of formats, including:

Bespoke Neurodiversity Works! training

In addition to our core Neurodiversity-confident Employer training, we are able to deliver training in different formats depending on your specific needs and preferences and to tailor the session focus.

Training follow-up ‘Learning into Practice’ session

This refresher and consolidation course is for line managers, HR professionals and other staff who have completed our Neurodiversity Confident Employer training within the last two years. These are live, interactive 2 hour group sessions led by experienced trainers and facilitators who are autistic or otherwise neurodivergent. Changes and actions identified during the earlier courses will be discussed, with a focus on identifying practical solutions and actions.

Autism and Neurodiversity ‘Deep Dive’ training session

These ‘Deep Dive’ sessions are for Managers, HR professionals, and work teams who wish to increase their knowledge and confidence specifically in particular aspects of attracting, recruiting and managing autistic and/or other neurodivergent staff. Participants will have the opportunity to explore areas in more detail and identify practical role and organisation-specific steps that can be taken to create a more inclusive physical work environment.

Example deep dive topics include:

  • recruitment
  • inclusive work environment
  • job carving
  • good management practice.
Neurodiversity-confident ‘bitesize’ training

Our two hour online sessions for up to 200 participants will build confidence in recruiting and retaining a neurodiverse workforce, providing a foundation for further more advanced or ‘deep-dive’ training on specific topics. As part of this participants will increase their understanding of the diverse capabilities and skill-sets autistic and other neurodivergent individuals can bring to their workforce.

We can also deliver a more interactive version of this session in-person to groups of up to 20 participants.

Successful work placements

This interactive course is for line managers and HR professionals who wish to build confidence in recruiting and enabling autistic and neurodivergent work placement candidates to develop and thrive in their work environment. Employers will understand the diverse capabilities and skill-sets neurodivergent individuals can bring to their workforce.
