Post Title: Employability Intervention Officer (EIO)
Salary: £25,694 FTE
Hours: Part-time 28-30 hrs per week – flexible (a term-time contract can be considered)
Location: Across East Lothian Secondary Schools and community settings
Contract: Fixed until 31st March 2023 (potential for extension subject to funding)

This is a partnership post, continuing the successful collaboration between Into Work and East Lothian Works (ELW) and will see the post holder working day-to-day as part of the ELW team based across East Lothian. The service provides advice and support with employability, training and development and with self-employment. The aim being to offer access to equal opportunity for all.
Reporting to the Employability Development Officer- Schools, the post holder will be responsible for delivering an exciting new project (Employability+) within East Lothian Secondary Schools. To deliver targeted and tailored employability-focussed sessions to young people with additional support needs, in order to increase their awareness and confidence about entering the world of work.
As this is a varied role it will require the post-holder to be flexible and work across various school settings. The post would suit a self-starter with the motivation and skills to deliver group sessions tailored to the needs of individual groups, creating and evolving the accompanying bank of resources for the programme and reporting and data management.
As an employee of Into Work, you will also have the support of a Service Delivery Manager
Relevant Qualifications
Ideally you will be educated to HNC/SVQ3 level in Childcare and Development or Social Care or other equivalent and/or be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills from experience.
Alternatively, you should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in the employability sector, including providing 1:1 support and delivering group work sessions to individuals with barriers to employment. It would be desirable for you to have some understanding of the local employability landscape, including Scottish Government and local drivers.
Driving Licence
A full current driving licence and access to a car is preferred for this post.
PVG Membership
You will be required to become a PVG Scheme member to work with vulnerable adults and children or undergo a PVG Scheme update if already a member to undertake this role.
