Autism Works!

The next dates for our Autism Works! Training are August and September 2022. Sign up via our online form via our online form.

An innovative project supported by Scottish Government’s ‘Increasing Understanding of Autism’ fund.

This was the best Autism training I have done and it was refreshing to be led by a welcoming team of trainers who all have lived experience.

In Phase One we worked closely with our Autism Advisory Group to co-produce a new training course for employers. Our Autism Advisory Group have a wealth of experience in a range of roles, including:

Our Autism Advisory Group co-produced these videos based on their lived experience.
The first video explains some of the common barriers autistic people encounter with team working and how to make it more inclusive:

The second video features members of the Advisory Group offering their lived experience of autism in the workplace:

Crucially, the training has lived experience of autism at its heart. During 2021, we delivered our Autism Works training to 18 employers, based mainly in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

During Phase Two (October 2021 to March 2023), we continue to deliver our Autism Works! training and to expand our training and consultancy support to employers. New training offers include ‘deep-dive’ sessions on topics including, Attracting and Recruiting Autistic staff and Accommodations and Adjustments.

We will also work with employers in the Edinburgh and Lothians region to offer supported Work Placement opportunities to Autistic people.

The workshop leaders are excellent and really helped to explain some of the challenges that would not have been obvious to me. Thank you
