Friday 13th September 2024 is Employability Day.
Employability Day is the UK’s largest celebration for organisations supporting local people to gain, sustain and progress in work. Coordinated by the Employment Related Services Association (ERSA), hundreds of businesses, charities and other bodies will throw open their doors to raise awareness about how they support local people.
The theme this year is “Employment Support for Every Citizen”.
For over 30 years we have been supporting disabled and neurodivergent people and those with long-term health conditions to achieve their employment goals.
However, there is still work to be done to reduce and eventually close the disability employment gap. Last year, the disability employment rate was 53.6% compared to 82.5% for non-disabled people.
We work towards this by working with and supporting both jobseekers and employers. We help the people who come to us secure fair, meaningful, and stainable employment and we we support employers to feel confident about recruiting, retaining, and promoting disabled staff.
